Baseball Summer League Update #7


MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.

This edition features updates through games on Sunday, July 28.

Michael Bennett, Alaska Goldpanners, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Bennett made one appearance, pitching 4.0 innings of two-hit ball with three strikeouts.

Season: Bennett has seen action in two games, allowing one earned run on five hits in 7.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Bobby Boyd, Bourne Braves, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Boyd played in three games last week, 3-for-8 (.375) with three walks and two stolen bases. He currently has a six game hitting streak in which he has batted 11-for-32 (.344).

Season: Boyd is batting .306 with 21 runs, one double, one triple, four RBIs and five stolen bases in 30 games.

Michael Constantini, Quakertown Blazers, Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Constantini played in five games last week, registering a hit in four games and finishing the week 8-for-17 (.471). He added six runs, two doubles, two RBIs and four stolen bases.

Season: Constantini is batting .288 with 23 runs, seven doubles, one triple, 16 RBIs and 19 stolen bases in 34 games.

Brock Dykxhoorn, Mankato MoonDogs, Northwoods League
Last week: Dykxhoorn did not pitch last week.

Season: Dykxhoorn has a 2-3 record in eight starts with a 4.74 ERA. He has struck out 30 in 43.2 innings

Billy Fleming, Philly Bandits
Fleming is playing for the Bandits, but stats are unavailable.

Justin Fox, Leesburg Lightning, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Fox went 4-for-18 (.222) last week in five games with one run.

Season: Fox is batting .212 with 13 runs, seven doubles, one triple, one homer, and 14 RBIs in 34 games.

Ray Guerrini, Rockbridge Rapids, Valley Baseball League
Last week: Guerrini played in three games, batting 2-for-7 (.286) with one run, two walks and two stolen bases.

Season: Guerrini’s season is now completed. He batted .214 with 14 runs, four doubles, one homer, six RBIs and seven stolen bases in 32 games. He also made four appearances on the mound with a 1.35 ERA, allowing seven hits with five strikeouts.

Ryan McBroom, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: McBroom went 6-for-23 (.261) last week in five games with three runs, one double, two homers and seven RBIs. He is currently riding a four-game hitting streak.

Season: McBroom is batting .324 with 17 runs, six doubles, five homers, 23 RBIs and two stolen bases in 29 games.

John Means, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Despite allowing just two runs on six hits in 8.0 innings against Brewster last week, Means took a loss. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.

Season: Means has a 2-3 record in six starts with a 2.33 ERA. He has struck out 28 in 34.2 innings pitched.

Taylor Munden, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Munden played in six games last week, batting 7-for-20 (.350) with eight runs, one double, two homers and six RBIs.

Season: Munden is batting .222 with 19 runs, seven doubles, six homers, 15 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 33 games. Munden has pitched 3.2 innings on the mound in three appearances, allowing four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Max Nogay, New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Nogay played in five games last week, batting 5-for-15 (.333) with two runs, one double, one homer and four RBIs.

Season: Nogay is batting .292 with 13 runs, eight doubles, two homers and 14 RBIs in 30 games.

Cameron O’Brien, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: O’Brien went 3-for-7 (.429) in three games last week with a hit in each game. He added one run.

Season: O’Brien is batting .244 with five runs, one triple, one homer and three RBIs in 15 games.

Pascal Paul, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Northwoods League
Last week: Paul allowed two hits in 1.1 innings pitched in one appearance.

Season: Paul is 2-0 with a 7.29 ERA in 10 games, striking out six in 12.1 innings.

Jacob Rice, Anchorage Glacier Pilots, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Rice went 2-for-11 (.182) last week with one stolen base in three games.

Season: Rice is batting .198 with nine runs, one double, one homer and six RBIs in 31 games.

Billy Sager, West Virginia Power, West Virginia Legion
Season: Sager is batting .340 with four doubles, three triples and one homer.

Cody Semler, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Semler did not play last week.

Season: Semler is batting .240 with five runs, two doubles, one homer, six RBIs and three stolen bases in 14 games.

Alex Stephens, DeLand Suns, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Stephens played in five games last week, finishing 3-for-16 (.188) with four runs, two walks and two stolen bases.

Season: Stephens is batting .289 with 15 runs, four doubles, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases in 35 games.

Michael Teagle, Clippers, Karl Young College Baseball League
Last Week: Teagle pitched two games in relief last week, giving up one run in 5.0 innings with a save.

Season: Teagle is 4-0 with one save in six appearances with a 2.52 ERA in 25.0 innings pitched.

Ryan Tezak, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Tezak was named the NECBL Pitcher of the Week after earning a win and a save in two appearances. Against Ocean State, Tezak struck out four in 1.2 innings for the save, while allowing one hit with six strikeouts in 4.2 innings for a win against Newport. He did not allow a run in either outing.

Season: Tezak has a 3-0 record with five saves in 13 appearances with a 1.52 ERA. He has struck out 24 in 17.2 innings pitched.

Shaun Wood, Vienna River Dogs, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Wood batted 5-for-18 (.278) in eight games last week with three runs, one double and one RBI.

Season: Wood is batting .239 with 10 runs, four doubles, one triple, two homers, 12 RBIs and four stolen bases in 33 games.
