IMG Adds Four More to Network

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In the dog days of summer, the hottest new radio programming across America is shaping up to be West Virginia Mountaineers football.

As the new sports radio network quickly forms for West Virginia University, four additional station affiliates have joined the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG. The latest stations signing on to the burgeoning network are: WELD-FM in Fisher, WV; WVOW-AM/WVOW-FM in Logan, WV, WKQR-FM in Mullens, WV, and WETZ-AM/WYMJ-FM in New Martinsville, WV.

The stations will each air air football, men’s basketball along with their respective coaches’ shows and a daily “Mountaineer Minute” report.

The new Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG now has nine affiliate stations that will provide excellent coverage of WVU sports.

West Virginia University and IMG College, which operates the nation’s largest independent sports radio network, recently formed a broad 12-year multimedia rights and sponsorship partnership including exclusive representation and management of game broadcasts and coaches’ shows on the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG beginning in the 2013-14 season.

Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG plans to add four hours of pre- and post-game coverage commensurate with a program of West Virginia’s scope and appeal. Pregame shows will expand from one hour to 3.5 hours and postgame shows to two hours from 30 minutes. Details on the play-by-play and color commentary team will be announced in the future.
