WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The West Virginia Mountaineers and IMG College continue to add new affiliates to their new radio network as seven additional station affiliates have joined the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG: WHAJ-FM in Bluefield, WV, WJAW-AM/WJAW-FM in St. Mary’s, WV, WKMM-FM in Kingwood, WV, WEPM-AM/WLTF-FM in Martinsburg, WV, and WQWV-FM Petersburg, WV.

The stations will each air football and men’s basketball along with their respective coaches’ shows and a daily “Mountaineer Minute” report.

The new Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG now has 16 affiliate stations that will cover WVU sports.

West Virginia University and IMG College, which operates the nation’s largest independent sports radio network, recently formed a broad 12-year multimedia rights and sponsorship partnership including exclusive representation and management of game broadcasts and coaches’ shows on the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG beginning in the 2013-14 season.

“The lifelong Mountaineer maniacs at New Country V103 are so excited to bring coverage of the Mountaineers to our part of Mountaineer Nation,” said WQWV-FM Petersburg, WV Sports Director Lacey Hardy. “When people in the Potomac Highlands think Mountaineers, they think of V103. We're so excited to work with IMG to take our coverage of WVU sports to the next level. The only downfall, is having to wait until the season kicks off. Let’s go Mountaineers!”

“L&L Broadcasting is excited to work with IMG in the upcoming 2013 – 2014 WVU football and basketball season,” said WHAJ General Manager Danny Clemons. “WHAJ has been the home of the Mountaineers in southern West Virginia for many years, and we look forward to continuing the Mountaineer Pride tradition with the new IMG network provider. L&L Broadcasting works with the IMG network on one of WHAJ’s sister stations, and we have confidence that the WVU product will be delivered as seamlessly as their other broadcast.”

Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG plans to add four hours of pre- and post-game coverage for WVU football. Pregame shows will expand from one hour to 3.5 hours and postgame shows to two hours from 30 minutes. Details on the play-by-play and color commentary team will be announced in the future.

“Affiliate reaction to the new network continues to be very strong, and we are very excited to welcome these additional station groups to the Mountaineers broadcasts,” said Chris Ferris, Vice President, Broadcasting, IMG College.
