Squires Finals at U.S. Open Champs

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the second time in as many days, a member of the West Virginia University swimming team swam in the finals of the 2013 U.S. Open Swimming Championships in Irvine, Calif.

After swimming a 23.14 in the preliminary swim of the 50 free on Saturday, junior Tim Squires made it back for a final swim. Squires returned in the evening, going 23.11 for a 20th place finish.

Senior Jake Querciagrossa swam to a 63rd place finish in the preliminary session of the 200 IM (2:08.05).

The championships have now concluded with the Mountaineers recording 15 lifetime best swims out of 21 swims.
