Affiliate Added to Radio Network
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The West Virginia Mountaineers and IMG College have announced today that Fantasia Broadcasting’s WZST-FM in Morgantown, WV, has signed as the new radio network’s primary-market affiliate station, joining 20 other outlets that will carry live WVU sports.
The agreement with Fantasia includes coverage on WMMN-AM as well as on previously announced Fantasia Broadcasting-owned Fairmont affiliates WRLF-FM and WTCS-AM. This will provide fans multiple signals for complete coverage of Mountaineer Athletics across Morgantown and Monongalia County.
WZST-FM, a Hot Adult Contemporary formatted station, will air football and men’s basketball, along with the football and basketball coaches’ shows and a daily “Mountaineer Minute” report. Conference baseball will be carried on Fantasia’s WMMN-AM (920) or WRLF-FM (94.3), and women’s basketball will be carried by WZST-FM (100.9) or WRLF-FM (94.3).

West Virginia University and IMG College, which operates the nation’s largest independent sports radio network, recently formed a broad 12-year multimedia rights and sponsorship partnership including exclusive representation and management of game broadcasts and coaches’ shows on the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG beginning in the 2013-14 season.
Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG plans to add four hours of pre- and post-game coverage for WVU football. Pregame shows will expand from one hour to 3.5 hours and postgame shows to two hours from 30 minutes. The Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG will also be available to fans on WVUSports.com, the official athletic website of West Virginia Athletics.
