MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team and coaching staff will be offering a free informational session at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 23, at the WVU Coliseum.

The coaches, staff and squad will host Mountain Strong Volleyball 101 – a program designed to give fans the opportunity to get an up-close look into WVU Volleyball.

“We are looking forward to hosting our first Mountain Strong Volleyball 101 this year,” says West Virginia coach Jill Kramer. “The players are excited to spend some time with our fans and give them a more intimate look at the way we train and scout, and let the fans interact and get on the court with the team.”

Special guest NCAA Official Lori Stahara will be at the event to inform fans of recent rules changes.

“We are lucky enough to have added Lori Stahara to the mix, so that she can explain the rules of the game since they are always being tweaked,” says Kramer.

Assistant coach Kevin Carroll will conduct a mock scouting and game planning session and Kramer will be teaching the X’s and O’s of volleyball.

Members of the team will provide an interactive up-close skills session and attendees will be able to participate in team building activities with the Mountaineers, as well as receive an autographed poster by the players and staff.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on the Coliseum court. Prior registration is not necessary. In addition to an inside perspective of the Mountaineers, fans will get an opportunity to win both West Virginia volleyball apparel and tickets to upcoming matches.
