MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 29 West Virginia University cross country team travels to State College, Pa., for the Penn State University Spiked Shoe Invitational this Friday, September 13.
“We will set the same lineup for Penn State as we had two weeks ago at Lehigh,” says coach Sean Cleary. “I am very interested to see our progressions over the last two weeks. Training has been progressing and a clearer picture of our final roster is much more evident.
The Mountaineers finished fourth in the Lehigh Invitational two weeks ago in Bethlehem, Pa., in their first meet of the season.
Sophomore Paige Szabat
was the first Mountaineer to cross the finish line, finishing in 10th place overall with a time of 23:41.75.
Junior Allison Pettit
finished in 19th (23:50.51), junior Lydia Martinelli
crossed the line in 29th (24:19.51), freshman Peyton Hampson
in 32nd (24:31.55) and senior Chelsea Jarvis
finished in 49th (25:12.03).
The women’s 6K begins at 5.30 p.m. Friday at the PSU White & Blue Golf Course.
