MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Morehead, Ky., for the Eagle Challenge at Morehead State University this Friday, Sept. 13, and Saturday, Sept. 14.

“We’ve had a great couple days of practice and are looking forward to competing again,” says coach Jill Kramer. “I’m really proud of the work our team has put in this week.”

WVU will play host Morehead State (4-3) on Friday at 7 p.m., then will face Campbell (5-2) at 11 a.m., on Saturday, and Hampton (4-2) at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday

The Mountaineers (7-0) are off to their best start in program history and have won 20 consecutive sets, for another program best.

Freshman outside hitter Jordan Anderson has been chosen the Big 12 Conference’s Rookie of the Week each of past two weeks, while also being named the Most Valuable Player of the Mountaineer Invitational.

Sophomore setter Brittany Sample, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Blue/Gold Invitational in Toledo, Ohio, currently ranks second in the Big 12 in assists per set.

“Our team has stayed very disciplined and has continued to make improvements throughout the week,” Kramer says.

West Virginia is 1-0 all-time against Campbell, and has never faced Morehead State or Hampton in its 40 year history.
