MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., on Tuesday night to take on Duquesne at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers (10-0) are fresh off an Eagle Challenge title, while posting a 3-0 record over the weekend in Morehead, Ky.

“Our match against Duquesne gives us another opportunity to continue to improve as a team,” says coach Jill Kramer. “Duquesne is a very fundamentally sound team.”

The Mountaineers have won 30 sets this season, while dropping just four, and have recorded seven sweeps through 10 games. WVU is the only remaining unbeaten team in the Big 12 Conference.

West Virginia’s middle blockers Caleah Wells and Evyn McCoy rank No. 2 and No. 3 in the Big 12 in hitting percentage, respectively, while freshman outside hitter Jordan Anderson ranks No. 3 in kills and points.

Anderson posted a career-high 17 kills and 15 digs for her sixth double-double of the season in a win over Hampton Saturday. Sophomore libero Anna Panagiotakopoulos had a career-high 28 digs and sophomore setter Brittany Sample had 43 assists and 13 digs against the Lady Pirates.

WVU leads the Big 12 in blocks, with a 2.9 blocks per set average, after averaging just 1.63 blocks per set in 2012.

The Mountaineers are 27-18 all-time against the Dukes (4-5), dropping the last matchup 3-2 at the WVU Coliseum.

“We will continue to focus on communicating well in a new environment and playing solid as a unit,” Kramer says.
