MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team maintained its No. 22 ranking in this week’s TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Top 25 Poll.

The Mountaineers (9-2-2, 3-0 Big 12) remained steady despite earning a 2-1 win over Texas on Oct. 4 at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. WVU stands alone at the top of the Big 12 Conference rankings, as the Mountaineers are the only team to win all of their league games.

Virginia (12-0, 6-0 ACC) is ranked No. 1, while UCLA (10-1, 2-0 Pac 12) and Florida State (10-0-3, 5-0-2 ACC) move up one spot each to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. North Carolina (10-2, 4-2 ACC) is No. 4, and Stanford (9-1-1, 2-1 Pac 12) is No. 5.

Texas Tech (12-1-1, 2-0-1) is the highest-ranked Big 12 team and checks in at No. 11. Baylor (8-2-2, 1-1) ranks No. 19.

The Mountaineers continue their four-match homestand with two games this weekend. WVU will welcome Iowa State on Friday, Oct. 11, for a 7 p.m. match, at Dick Dlesk. The Mountaineers will then face TCU on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Friday is the Mountaineers’ Pink Game, and all fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The Mountaineers raised $15,781 this spring in its effort to help fight breast cancer, pushing its 10-year total to more than $100,000. A check will be presented to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at halftime of Friday’s game.
