MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team jumped four spots to No. 14 in this week’s TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Top 25 Poll.

Today marks the second straight week the Mountaineers (12-2-2, 6-0 Big 12) have made a four-spot climb, as WVU moved four spots from No. 22 to No. 18 last week.

Since dropping a 4-2 decision to Kentucky on Sept. 15, WVU has earned eight straight wins, including six victories in the Big 12 Conference.

Virginia (16-0, 10-0 ACC) holds steady at No. 1, while UCLA (13-1-1, 5-0-1 Pac 12) is No. 2 and Florida State (13-0-3, 8-0-2 ACC) is No. 3. Portland (12-1-1, 4-0 WCC) and Virginia Tech (13-1-2, 8-1-1) move up one spot to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Texas Tech (13-1-2, 3-0-2 Big 12), the Mountaineers’ final regular-season opponent, is the highest-ranked Big 12 team and checks in at No. 7 for the second straight week.

The Mountaineers look to clinch their second consecutive Big 12 regular-season title this weekend, as they close out their regular-season schedule on the road. WVU faces Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., on Friday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. ET, and the Red Raiders in Lubbock, Texas, on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. ET. Friday night’s game will be carried by FCS Atlantic.
