MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Playoff implications will be on the line on Friday, Nov. 8, as the WVU men’s soccer team hosts Bowling Green in the regular-season finale. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
If West Virginia wins or ties Bowling Green, the Mountaineers will be the No. 4 seed at next weekend’s Mid-American Conference Tournament in a location to be determined. Bowling Green qualifies for the tournament with a victory over West Virginia. The No. 1 seed and host will be determined by the Akron/Western Michigan result. With a win or tie, Western Michigan will be the No. 1 seed followed by Akron at No. 2. Hartwick has the No. 3 seed locked up.
Admission to the match will be free courtesy of WVU Healthcare, while the match also serves as Senior Night. Seniors Zack Claudio, Craig Stephens and Jay Williams will be recognized prior to kickoff. Due to the high number of events, free parking will be available in the WVU Coliseum lots closest to the Natatorium/band practice field.
The Mountaineers (7-6-4, 2-2-1 MAC) are unbeaten in their last five matches, most recently winning 2-1 at Buffalo last Friday evening. Junior Andy Bevin scored the game-winning goal, and sophomore Majed Osman broke a five-game goal drought to put WVU on the board.

Bowling Green (6-7-5, 2-2-1 MAC) scored a season-high eight goals in an 8-0 victory over IPFW on Tuesday. Ryan Comiskey notched two goals and Danny Baraldi picked up three assists in blowout.
The Falcons are led this season by Anthony Grant, who is tied with Comiskey, for a team-leading four goals. Michael Wiest has started all 18 games in goal and has a 0.72 goals-against average. Wiest has made 69 saves and posted eight shutouts.
