MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following its three wins at the tournament championship, the Big 12 champion West Virginia University women’s soccer team checks back in to the Top 10 in the national rankings.
The Mountaineers (16-3-2, 7-1 Big 12) jump eight spots to No. 7 in this week’s Top 25 Rankings. The mark is the first Top-10 spot in the rankings this season for WVU; the squad was previously ranked as high as No. 15 in the Oct. 22 rankings.
WVU checks in at No. 9 in the Soccer America Top 25 Rankings, an eight-spot improvement from last week’s rankings. The Mountaineers previously ranked as high as No. 6 in the Oct. 15 and Oct. 22 rankings.
Finally, the Mountaineers jump four spots and rank No. 12 in this week’s NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Poll, the third-highest position for the squad this season. WVU was ranked No. 9 on Oct. 22 and No. 11 on Oct. 15.
The Mountaineers will begin their journey toward the 2013 NCAA College Cup this Saturday, Nov. 16, against Rutgers (13-4-4, 5-3-1 AAC), at 7 p.m., at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
