MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team holds its No. 3 spot in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association Poll.
Today’s ranking is based on the Mountaineers’ last score shot. WVU (5-0, 3-0 GARC) shot 4690 in their victory over Akron (4605) on Nov. 3, at the WVU Rifle Range.
Kentucky holds the No. 1 spot for the second week, shooting 4693 in their last competition against Navy. Alaska-Fairbanks ranks No. 2 this week with 4674 and 4692 showings at Jacksonville State and TCU.
Jacksonville state ranks No. 4, while Army and Air Force moved up one spot from last week to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. TCU ranks No. 7 this week.
Nebraska sits at No. 8, while Memphis stays at No. 9 for the second week and is tied with Ole Miss.
The Mountaineers will close fall semester competition against Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foe Navy on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range, in Annapolis, Md.
