Swimming and Diving Closes Fall Slate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – The West Virginia University swimming and diving teams close out their fall schedule with a trip to the Mizzou Invitational at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in Columbia, Mo., on Nov. 21-23.

“Competing this weekend at the Mizzou Invite will finish our first half of the season. The teams we are facing are very talented and well coached,” said coach Vic Riggs. “I look for us to raise our expectations, preparation and focus to compete at the highest level so far this year.”
 
This year’s field includes Florida International, Utah, Nebraska, Southern Illinois, Arkansas, UC-Davis, Northern Colorado, Missouri and the Mountaineers
 
Prelims of events will begin at 10 a.m. CT on each day, while finals of the events will begin at 6 p.m. CT.
 
The Mountaineers have been off the past week after traveling to the Big 12/ACC Challenge quad meet at Virginia on Nov. 8-9.
 
“It’s a great pool, great competition, and a great opportunity,” said Riggs. “It should yield great performances from us and that’s why we are here.”
 
The teams are off for their winter training trip in Florida following this meet, they will be in multiple cities and participate in the Orange Bowl Swim Classic in Key Largo, Fla., on Jan. 2.
