Sam Dekker scored 21 points and Ben Brust added 16 to lead 10th-ranked Wisconsin to a 70-63 victory over West Virginia in the championship game of the Triple Crown Cancun Classic at the Hard Rock Hotel in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.
The Badgers, now 8-0, got 11 points off the bench from Josh Gasser and 10 points from Frank Kaminsky.
Neither team shot well from the floor, Wisconsin finishing the game shooting 40.7 percent (22 of 54) while West Virginia ended the game going 23 of 54 for 42.6 percent.
The Mountaineers got nine points off the bench from Remi Dibo and seven from Gary Browne
The Badgers had a decisive 37-27 advantage on the glass.
Wisconsin led 39-32 at halftime.
West Virginia will face Loyola at the Coliseum on Monday, Dec. 2. Three days later, the Mountaineers will play Missouri on Thursday, Dec. 5 in the Big 12-SEC Challenge that will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
