MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University rifle coach Jon Hammond announced today that Elizabeth Gratz has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete at WVU next fall.
“We are really excited to have Elizabeth join the Mountaineers next season,” says coach Jon Hammond. “She is one of the most exciting prospects in the country and has already represented the USA in several international competitions. Elizabeth is a fantastic air rifle shooter. Additionally, she is a great student and is highly motivated. She will be a great addition to our team.”
Gratz, a native of Sigel, Ill., is a member of the USA Shooting National Junior Team and has competed for the USA at four international competitions. Most recently, she shot at the 2013 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Fort Benning and Granada World Cups. Gratz won the 10m air rifle junior female competition at the 23rd Meeting of the Shooting Hopes in the Czech Republic in June. She also placed fourth in the junior female prone and 10th in the junior female 3 positions.
An eight-time state champion, Gratz was the high J2 finisher and placed fourth overall at the 2013 Junior Olympics.
