Rifle Opens Spring at No. 3

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team opens its 2013-14 spring schedule ranked No. 3 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
The Mountaineers (6-0, 4-0 GARC) were ranked No. 3 in the Nov. 27 CRCA Poll, the last ranking released. In total, WVU has been slotted at No. 3 in five consecutive polls.
Kentucky has jumped Alaska-Fairbanks and is the nation’s new No. 1. UK was ranked at No. 1 for three straight weeks prior to the Nov. 27 poll. The Nanooks drop back to No. 2, while Jacksonville State and Nebraska continue to rank No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
TCU ranks No. 6 and is followed by Army at No. 7. Air Force is No. 8, Ohio State is No. 9 and Memphis is No. 10.
The Mountaineers open their spring season this Sunday, Jan. 19, against No. 14-ranked NC State, at the WVU Rifle Range, at 8 a.m.
