Tennis Stumbles Against Richmond

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team fell to Richmond, 4-1, today in its two-day double header in Norfolk, Va.
In doubles play, the Mountaineer (1-4) duo of sophomores Irinka Toidze and Vivian Tsui fell to the Spiders' tandem of Brittany Boys and Melissa Kandinata, 6-4.
Freshman Kaja Mrgole opened singles play for WVU at the No. 1 position for the first time this spring, downing Melissa Kandinata, 6-0, 6-3, for her fourth victory this year. Mrgole leads the Mountaineers with a 4-1 mark to date.
At the No. 4 position, Toidze battled Richmond's Katya Salas, falling 6-4, 6-3. Tsui dropped the day's final match to Brittany Boys, 6-0, 6-2.
WVU will remain in Norfolk to take on Old Dominion tomorrow, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m.
