Diving Completes Day Two of NCAA Zones

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University diving teams closed their season on the second day of the NCAA Zone “A” Diving Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center in Blacksburg, Va.
 
Junior Haily VandePoel
Junior Haily VandePoel made the finals in her second event of the meet, placing eighth overall in the 3-meter with a score of 545.85.
 
In the men’s 1-meter, senior Liam McLaughlin closed out his career with a 46th placed finish (207.55).
 
Other finishes for the women in the 3-meter included sophomore Lindsay Schmidt in 21st (237.30), junior Jennifer Rey in 29th (221.30) and sophomore Tori Taffner in 39th (203.50).
 
Today’s competition concludes the season for the Mountaineer diving squads. Select members of the men’s swim team will be traveling to Austin, Texas for the NCAA Championships from March 27-29.
