MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia baseball team is set to travel to Charleston on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. non-conference game against Marshall at Appalachian Power Park.

The game is the first of a two-game series that will see Marshall make a trip to Morgantown on Wednesday, April 23.

Fans can listen to the game with the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG online at WVUsports.com and a local Morgantown affiliate, with Jeff Culhane and Ernie Galusky on the call.

West Virginia finished 5-2 overall on the trip to the West Coast and currently has a 10-6 record, including winning eight of the last 10 games.

Junior center fielder Bobby Boyd led WVU at the plate last week, batting 8-for-17 (.471) with six runs, one double, two RBIs, three walks and five stolen bases. Boyd is batting .362 this season with two doubles, seven RBIs and a team-leading 12 stolen bases.

Senior first baseman Ryan McBroom continued to drive in runs, batting 7-for-17 (.412) with two runs, one double, one homer and six RBIs. McBroom leads the team in batting average (.365), homers (5) and RBIs (23).

Joining Boyd and McBroom above the .300 plateau are junior second baseman Billy Fleming (.349), freshman right fielder Shaun Wood (.306) and senior left fielder Jacob Rice (.302).

Coach Randy Mazey will send junior left-hander John Means (3-1, 1.64 ERA) to the mound after Means missed a start last weekend due to schedule changes. Means has struck out 14 in 22.0 innings and opponents are hitting just .203.

Marshall is 6-12 overall and most recently won one game in a three-game series against Southern Miss last weekend. Outfielder Cory Garrastazu is leading the team with a .347 batting average to go along with three doubles and six RBIs.

Marshall has yet to announce a starting pitcher.

West Virginia is 39-23 all-time against Marshall and has won 15 of the last 18 meetings.
