MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – The West Virginia University tennis team returns home for its third weekend of Big 12 Conference action against No. 32 Texas Tech on March 28 at 1 p.m., and No. 57 TCU on March 30 at 10 a.m. at the Ridgeview Racquet Club.

“So far, we have had good showings against KSU, Kansas, and Texas,” says coach Miha Lisac. “We are looking to continue to challenge ourselves at the highest level in the Big 12 this weekend against Texas Tech and TCU.”

The Mountaineers (3-12, 0-4 Big 12) are currently on a four-match losing skid. Freshmen Oana Manole and Kaja Mrgole lead the squad with seven wins each in singles. In doubles, Manole and Mrgole have teamed up for a mark of 6-6, and entered the spring season tabbed No. 9 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

The Red Raiders enter the weekend 11-7 and are led by the No. 38-ranked doubles pair of Kenna Kilgo and Samantha Adams, recording a mark of 19-6 in duals. At No. 1 singles, Adams is 5-4 against Big 12 competition and 10-17 in duals overall. Nikki Sanders, playing in positions No. 4-6, has posted the team's best singles record of 19-5 in duals and 9-0 against the Big 12. Texas Tech opened the spring winning nine of its first 10 matches, but has since lost three of its last five, most recently to No. 23 Oklahoma State, 4-3.

The Horned Frogs are 8-9 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Stefanie Tan and Simona Parajova come to Morgantown ranked in singles play by the ITA, No. 59 and No. 121 respectively. Parajova leads TCU with 11 wins in singles this spring. The Horned Frogs have dropped their last two matches, falling to No. 23 Oklahoma State and No. 17 Oklahoma last weekend, both by a score of 5-2.
