MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Three members of the National Champion West Virginia University rifle team, along with coach Jon Hammond, will compete at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Fort Benning World Cup, March 28-April 4, in Fort Benning, Ga.
Prediger, a Petersaurach, Germany, native, and Dvorsak, a native of Ljubljana, Slovenia, will compete in the women’s 10m air rifle on March 29. Dvorsak also will compete in the women’s 50m 3 positions competition on March 31.
Kiisk, a native of Paide, Estonia, will shoot in the men’s 10m air rifle tomorrow, the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions on March 30 and the men’s 50m rifle prone on April 2. Hammond, a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, will compete alongside Kiisk in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions and 50m rifle prone.
This week’s world cup is the first of the season for international shooting. The competition is the first for the Mountaineers since the squad won its second straight, and nation-best 16th, NCAA title on March 15. Prediger, Dvorsak and Kiisk all shot at the NCAA Championships, with Prediger finishing second in air rifle and Dvorsak place third in air rifle and seventh in smallbore.
