MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team wrapped up its home weekend at the Ridgeview Racquet Club, today, with a loss against No. 57 TCU, 4-0.

In doubles, the Mountaineers (3-14, 0-6 Big 12) stormed back after trailing on all three courts to force two tiebreaker sets. In No. 1 doubles, the freshmen tandem of Oana Manole and Kaja Mrgole came back to knot the match at four before dropping four of the next six games. At No. 3 doubles, sophomores Vivian Tsui and Irinka Toidze tied the match at seven to force a tiebreaker, but dropped the set, which sealed the doubles point for the Horned Frogs, 7-5.

Sophomore Hailey Barrett and Ikttesh Chahal came back from a 3-2 deficit to take a 4-3 lead after facing several deuce points. TCU's Monika Sirilova and Simona Parajova battled back to take a one game lead, but WVU's pair knotted the match once again. In the tiebreak, the Mountaineers jumped out to a 5-2 lead, and led 7-6 before the match was abandoned at the conclusion of the No. 3 doubles match.

In singles, WVU was unable to continue its momentum from doubles, falling to the Horned Frogs in the first three singles matches. The coaches agreed at the beginning of the match to end play after the clinching match.

TCU took a 2-0 lead after No. 121 Parajova downed Mrgole in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. Manole hung around in the first set, but went on to be defeated by Sofika Kadzhaya, 6-3, 6-0. The match was clinched by the Horned Frogs at No. 1 singles, with No. 59 Tan moving past Barrett, 6-3, 6-2.
