MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia senior center Asya Bussie has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-America Team.

Ten student-athletes were named to the WBCA All-America team, which was decided from a group of 52 finalists by the selection committee at an in-person meeting held during the 2014 WBCA National Convention, while 42 student-athletes earned Honorable Mention distinctions.

A team co-captain, Bussie earned recognition on the All-Big 12 First Team, the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and the Big 12 All-Tournament Team. She closed out her career with the 11th-most points of a WVU women’s basketball player with 1,497. She ranks second in WVU’s career record books with 270 blocked shots and 382 offensive rebounds. The Randallstown, Md., native had a program-best and nation-leading 138 consecutive career games played and started.

Bussie and the Mountaineers won a share of the Regular-Season Big 12 Conference title before falling to LSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 25.
