MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - With just three competitions remaining prior to the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, the West Virginia track and field team travels to Princeton, N.J., for the Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend.

Competition will get underway on Friday, April 18, at 3 p.m., with the hammer throw, and will conclude on Saturday, April 19, at 5:40 p.m., with the 4x400 meter relay.

“We are now entering the middle portion of our outdoor regular season,” says coach Sean Cleary. “This is the time of year that our group really needs to be rounding into shape and positioning themselves for postseason competition. Princeton provides a level of competition for us to reach our goals.”

The Mountaineers are coming off a fourth-place finish at the George Mason Invite in Fairfax, Va.

Sophomore Marsielle McBeam and senior Chene Townsend each placed first in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles, respectively.
