Seniors Pace Track on Day Two at Big 12s

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia track and field team wrapped up day two of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, tonight, in Lubbock, Texas.                                               
Senior Stormy Nesbit placed fifth overall in the long jump with a season-best jump of 6.06 meters (19-10.75), besting her previous season-best mark by one foot.
Nesbit finished sixth in the long jump at the 2014 Big 12 Indoor Championships. She will compete in the triple jump tomorrow at 4:30 p.m., ET.
In the 100-meter hurdles, senior Chené Townsend also recorded a season-best mark. Townsend finished fifth in the prelims in 13.37 to qualify for tomorrow’s finals. The 100 hurdles finals are scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m.
Freshman Brianna Kerekes just missed qualifying for the finals of the 800 meters, finishing with a personal-best time of 2:14.70.
Senior Sarah Martinelli will be in action tomorrow in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Martinelli has the third-best conference time in the event this season, which
is slated for 6:50 p.m.
