Schrand Named Athlete of the Week
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Senior rower Courtney Schrand has been named the Varsity Sports Report Athlete of the Week.
Schrand gathered her second career All-Conference USA Team award after leading the first Varsity 8+ crew to a second-place finish in the Petite Finals at the Conference USA Championship on May 17 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The all-conference honor is her second of the season, as she was named First Team All-Big 12 on May 3 at the Big 12 Championship.
The first Varsity 8+ boat just missed on earning a lane in the Grand Final at Saturday’s championship, being edged out by Kansas State by 0.87 seconds. WVU finished in 10th place.
