Three Earn ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Three members of the West Virginia University baseball team earned 2014 ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region honors this afternoon.
Second baseman Billy Fleming and first baseman Ryan McBroom earned first team honors, while outfielder Bobby Boyd was named to the second team.
Fleming will be the lone returner of the three next season after finishing second in the Big 12 with a .351 batting average in 2014. Fleming added eight doubles, one triple, two home runs and 30 RBIs.
McBroom was third in the Big 12 with a .341 batting average, while leading the Mountaineers with eight home runs and 49 RBIs. He also finished with 12 doubles. McBroom recently was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round and signed a professional contract.
Boyd finished the 2014 season with a Big 12- and team-leading .356 batting average, along with eight doubles, two triples, one homer, 24 RBIs and 18 stolen bases. Boyd was drafted in the eighth round by the Colorado Rockies and will forego his senior season.
