MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two West Virginia University soccer home matches will be featured on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) TV College Soccer Showcase Series this fall.

NSCAATV.com will carry the WVU men’s soccer match against Virginia Tech on Sept. 4 and the women’s soccer match against Texas Tech on Oct. 10. Both matches will kick at 7 p.m. ET from Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

“We are looking forward to playing host to Virginia Tech in the National Game of the Week series from the NSCAA,” says men’s coach Marlon LeBlanc. “This is a great opportunity for us to represent West Virginia and showcase our program to a national audience.”

“We’re thrilled to be presented with this exciting opportunity, and we look forward to showcasing our program to a national audience,” women’s coach Nikki Izzo-Brown says. “WVU women’s soccer will be viewed in many homes across the country that night.”

The men’s match against VT will be the 11th all-time against the Hokies and the first since 2004. VT holds a 7-3 series advantage, but the series is tied 3-3 when the game is held in Morgantown.

Of note, the men’s match at Akron on Oct. 17 also will be streamed on NSCAATV.com. The Mid-American Conference foes will kick at 7 p.m. from FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field.

The women’s match against the Red Raiders will be the official home Big 12 Conference opener for the Mountaineers, the two-time defending conference regular-season champions and the 2013 Big 12 Soccer Tournament champions. The teams are 1-1 all-time. WVU secured its first-ever Big 12 victory with a 3-2 win over TTU at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Sept. 21, 2012, and suffered its first Big 12 regular-season loss with a 2-0 defeat in Lubbock, Texas, on Oct. 27, 2013.

The women’s team opens its 2014 season with an exhibition at Rutgers on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The men’s team opens with an exhibition at Ohio State on Sunday, Aug. 17.
