Men’s Soccer Begins Preseason

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University men’s soccer team opened its 2014 preseason camp with two practices today.
 
These two-a-day practices will lead up to a Gold vs. Blue intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 5 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Fans are encouraged to come out to get a first look at the 2014 Mountaineers as players will be in game uniforms and rosters will be available with player information. Following the match, fans will be able to meet the team & coaching staff, get autographs and take photos on the field.  Admission for the event is free to the public.
 
WVU's first exhibition match is at Ohio State on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. The team will then close out the preseason with a match at home with Dayton on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. That event is also free admission.
 
West Virginia will open the regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 29 against St. John’s at 5:30 p.m. The Mountaineers return nine starters off the 2013 squad that went 7-7-5 and qualified for the MAC Semifinals.
