MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team will host a pair of on-campus events in the coming weeks, starting with the Second Annual MountainStrong Volleyball 101 on Friday, August 15, and the annual Volleypalooza on Sunday, August 17.
Hosted by the Mountaineer Athletic Club, Volleyball 101 will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum. Food and refreshments will be served at the event, which will give fans the opportunity to interact with head coach Jill Kramer and the squad. Attendees will also get the chance to get a sneak peek at the Mountaineers’ pregame preparations and will learn the rules of the game with on-court demonstrations.
Fans interested in attending Volleyball 101 can contact the MAC at 800-433-2027 or MAC@mail.wvu.edu.
Open to all students, Volleypalooza will be held this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the WVU Rec Field immediately following the New Student Welcome. It is a joint production between the volleyball team and WVU Residential Education and will feature several pick-up volleyball games. A DJ and complimentary food will be provided, and students in attendance will receive a free WVU volleyball/Volleypalooza tank top.
“Volleypalooza continues to grow every year as an exciting part of Welcome Week,” said Assistant Director for Athletic Marketing Nick Halfhill. “It provides an opportunity for incoming students to not only meet the team, but to meet new friends on campus. The event serves as a great way to kick off the fall semester.”
