MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Earlier today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Chick-fil-A® restaurant at Patteson Drive in Morgantown hosted a West Virginia Spirit Day event to celebrate the Mountaineers’ appearance against the University of Alabama in the Chick-fil-A® Kickoff Game next Saturday, Aug. 30.
Mountaineer fans, members of the Mountaineer Marching Band and the West Virginia cheerleading team all gathered to celebrate and build excitement for next weekend’s showdown at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Today’s Spirit Day was designed to build excitement for the game next Saturday,” said Lisa Holt, owner of the Chick-fil-A® restaurant at Patteson Drive. “It’s the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between WVU and Alabama, which is a once in a lifetime opportunity, in my opinion. Today’s event built excitement and got the fans ready for football season.”
Activities for children and adults were provided, including an autograph session, photo opportunities and the awarding of two tickets to the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game next Saturday.
“With the start of football season just one week away, today was a great opportunity for fans to come out, seethe Mountaineer Marching Band, the cheerleaders, the Mountaineer Mascot and get ready for next weekend’s game against Alabama in the Georgia Dome,” said Matt Wells, WVU Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. “We appreciate the support from Lisa Holt and everyone here at Chick-fil-A on Patteson Drive. We’re excited about our participation in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, and we’re looking forward to getting things started.”
The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game will take place at 3:30 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and will be nationally televised on ABC.
