MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team moved down one spot to No. 14 in the Associated Press Poll released on Monday.
The Mountaineers (10-0) picked up a 91-33 win over USC Upstate on Saturday for a 12th consecutive win at the WVU Coliseum and the 31st straight over a nonconference opponent at the Coliseum. WVU’s 10-0 mark is tied with the 2002-03 team for the second-best start in program history.
WVU earned 406 votes this week, 103 more than the prior week. However, Miami edged the Mountaineers to jump to No. 13 with 415 votes.
Other Big 12 teams in the ranking include No. 3 Baylor (761), No. 16 Texas (268) and No. 20 Oklahoma (187). Kansas State (44) and Oklahoma State (15) are in the others receiving votes category.
The Mountaineers are No. 14 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. A new poll will be released on Tuesday.
