MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – The West Virginia University track and field team completed the first day of the 2017 Big 12 Indoor Championship in Ames, Iowa, on Friday at Iowa State’s Lied Recreation Athletic Facility.

To highlight the first day of the Big 12 Championship, five Mountaineers garnered All-Big 12 honors for finishing in the top eight in the final events – junior Jillian Forsey, senior Megan Yuan, juniors Bria Welker and Maggie Drazba and redshirt freshman Candace Jones

“We came here with the goal of earning eight All-Big 12 performers,” said coach Sean Cleary. “While the day did not go as well as we hoped in certain events, we did leave he track with five women garnering All-Big 12 accolades.”
