MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In addition to thrilling action on the court, the West Virginia University volleyball team will offer several exciting promotions at the WVU Coliseum throughout the 2017 season.
Tickets for home volleyball matches are available through WVUGAME.com, by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or by visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the Gold gate at the WVU Coliseum. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for youth and seniors and $2 for groups of ten or more. Students can gain free entry by presenting a valid WVU student ID.
The team will give away six different posters throughout the season. Seniors Mia Swanegan

and Emma Anderson
will be featured individually on a poster given away at select matches. A team poster will be given for each match that features a post-match autograph session. The distribution schedule for the individual posters will be announced at later date.
The Mountaineers unofficially open the home slate on Saturday, Aug. 19, when they host the Gold/Blue Scrimmage. The event is free to the general public.
WVU will host Delaware, UT-Martin and Penn State as part of the WVU Invitational on Aug. 25-26 at the Coliseum. Friday’s season-opener against Delaware, slated for a 7 p.m. start, will be a Gold Rush, where all fans encouraged to wear gold. The first autograph session of the year will follow the match.
On Saturday, the Mountaineers will host a book drive for both the UT-Martin (12:30 p.m.) and Penn State matches (7 p.m.). Fans who bring a book to donate to the Read Aloud WV program of Monongalia County and the Morgantown Public Library are eligible for a discounted ticket ($3). The team will sign autographs following the evening tilt with the Nittany Lions.
The squad will host a Dollar Night Luau on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. against TCU. Fans are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed gear, while Mountaineer MANIAC members will receive a free tank top at the match. All admissions and select concession will be $1.
West Virginia will give away free t-shirts to the first 175 fans at the Coliseum when they host perennial national contender Texas in a Big 12 match on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. In addition, the WVU Dance Team will host a free youth clinic prior to the match. All attendees will receive free admission. To register, email WVUDance@gmail.com. The Mountaineers will sign autographs following the match.
WVU will host Kansas on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in a 6 p.m. contest. The match will be the second Dollar Night of the season, with all tickets and select concessions just $1.
The Oct. 13 match against Oklahoma (6 p.m.) will feature a rally towel giveaway to the first 500 fans as well as Greek Night. The match will also be a part of WVU volleyball’s alumni weekend. More information for the weekend will be announced at a later date. The Mountaineer MANIACS will have a water bottle giveaway for all members who attend the match.
The Mountaineers will host their annual Pink match on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. against K-State. The team will don pink jersey in support of breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the Coliseum and can receive the official pink shirt of WVU athletics with a donation of $10 or more to the WVU Cancer Institute. The match will also be Spike for Schools Day. Youth players who attended WVU volleyball camps this year will receive a promotional code for tickets.
WVU will host Robert Morris on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Fans can don their Halloween costume for $1 admission. Several WVU club sports and student organizations will host a trick-or-treat on the concourse of the Coliseum starting at 5 p.m. Attendees are also invited to enter a costume contest.
Nov. 8 against Iowa State (6 p.m.) will be Faculty and Staff Appreciation. All WVU faculty and staff will receive free admission with a WVU ID.
West Virginia will host a post-match youth clinic following the tilt with Texas Tech on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. The clinic is open to any and all entrants in grades eight and under. To register, email WVUSportsMarketing@mail.wvu.edu. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free mini foam WVU volleyball.
The team will host its annual Senior Day on Sunday, Nov. 19, when the Mountaineer close out their home slate against Baylor. Cross, Montgomery, Gotterba, Swanegan and Anderson will be honored during the match.
