  • Started off his career with wins in the 100 and 200 breast at the West Virginia State Games, with times of 58.42 and 2:08.73, respectively

  • Swam in the 100 breast (1:06.25) and the 200 breast (2:26.13) at the 2013 U.S. Open Championships
  • Spent two seasons at Lincoln College for coach Matt Dickenson
  • Took second in the 200 breast (2:01.35) and third in the 100 breast (55.30) at the 2013 NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships
