Toni Oliverio enters her fourth season on the Mountaineers’ staff as director of basketball operations. A native of Clarksburg, W.Va., Oliverio came to West Virginia from WVU Institute of Technology where she served as assistant athletic director/sports information director. In that position she assisted with the overall management of the athletic program including fundraising, external relations, facilities and academics.
Oliverio also served as the sports information director for the NAIA’s Mid-South Conference where she was involved in all aspects of publicizing the conference and served as assistant sports information director and academic coordinator at WVU Tech.
She completed an internship in the Mid-South Conference’s commissioner’s office in 2006 where she played an integral role in the administration and coordination of the track and field, cheerleading, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and tennis championships. During that same time period, she worked in Louisville’s intramural and recreational sports department. From August 2004 until December 2005, Oliverio served as a graduate teaching and research assistant, also at Louisville. She was a sports information intern at Louisville in 2005, where she assisted in game management for women’s basketball, men’s tennis, softball and field hockey.
From 2001-03, she served as head women’s tennis coach and assistant women’s basketball coach at Salem College.
Oliverio earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from West Liberty State in 2001, where she was also a member of the women’s basketball team from 1997-99. She received her master’s degree in sport administration from Louisville in 2006.
