Assistant Director, Student-Athlete Academic Services
Kelli Hinton is in her second year as an assistant director of student-athlete academic services with responsibility of working with the Mountaineer football program.
Hinton assists with developing individualized programs, then monitors each student-athletes’ progress to ensure their academic success and make sure they are on track toward graduation.
Hinton also provides guidance to the student-athletes, assisting them with the organization and development of their course schedules each semester, helps oversee the study hall program, teaches study skills to at-risk students and works in conjunction with the compliance department on eligibility issues.
Hinton came to West Virginia after serving as an athletic academic advisor at Cincinnati for a year. She worked with the baseball, volleyball, tennis and men’s and women’s golf programs. Prior to that, she served a year at Ohio State as the assistant athletic academic counselor and then served as a student assistant in the athletic academic program at Indiana.
Hinton served as an associate instructor at Indiana for a year and worked as a CHAMPS/LifeSkills graduate assistant at Xavier.
She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics. Hinton graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cincinnati in 2003 and earned a master’s degree in kinesiology from Indiana in 2008.
