Adrian Dowell serves as a Major Gifts Officer with the Mountaineer Athletic Club. He is responsible for securing gifts for the annual fund, major capital projects, and endowments for student-athlete scholarships.

Prior to this appointment, Dowell served as a graduate assistant with the MAC (June 2009-2011), where he coordinated marketing initiatives, assisted the major gifts staff, managed game-day premium seating operations, and executed sport-specific fundraising programs.

In addition, Dowell also spent a year (June 2008-July 2009) at the NCAA National Office as the Division I Men's and Women's Postgraduate Intern. There, he assisted the vice presidents and directors of the Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championship with a number of tasks including the 2009 men's championship selections and the 2012-2016 Final Four site selection process. Additionally, Dowell assisted the staff in preparation and management of the 2009 Men's Division I Basketball Championship and Final Four.

Dowell also served as an intern with the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (August 2007- May 2008). He was responsible for assisting the commissioner and sports information director with daily operations, and wrote press releases for the conference website.

Dowell, a native of Salem, Va., received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Health & Human Performance – Sport Management from Roanoke College in 2008, and an MBA and Master’s Degree in Sport Management from West Virginia in 2011.
