Vickie Mastalerz was appointed an educational counselor with Student Services in November 2011. She is responsible for developing a supportive, individualized approach for assisting student-athletes academically.
Prior to this appointment, Mastalerz served as an academic mentor at the Coliseum Academic Performance Center from August 2010-December 2011. There, she helped facilitate academic success skills to the four student-athletes and assisted the educational counselors.
She also served as a study hall clerk at the Coliseum Academic Performance Center from August 2009-April 2010. Her responsibilities included mentoring student-athletes, providing study hall oversight and sending weekly reports to the coaches.
Mastalerz has been actively involved in the area of special education while maintaining certification to conduct language disability testing, and implement individual education plans. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Juniata College in 1972 and her Master’s Degree in Speech/Audiology from West Virginia University in 1977.
