Athletic Compliance Mission Statement

West Virginia University is committed and obligated to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner that is consistent with the letter and the spirit of the NCAA, the Big 12 Conference and University rules and regulations. The University is devoted to upholding these principals by promoting open lines of communication along with a comprehensive education program to maintain a culture of compliance within the Athletics Department, campus and community.

Each individual involved with the WVU Intercollegiate Athletics Program is obligated to maintain competency in knowledge of the NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules; to operate in compliance with the NCAA legislation; and to report any violation of NCAA and/or Big 12 conference rules.
