
No. 3 Mountaineers Head to Georgia State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 3 West Virginia University men's soccer team travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia State, Saturday, Oct. 18, in a Sun Belt conference matchup. Kickoff from the GSU Soccer Complex is set for 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers are 9-1-2 this season after defeating American, 2-0, on Tuesday. Junior Pablo Pozos scored both goals for WVU while senior Marcus Caldeira, junior Constantinos Christou, and senior Felix Ewald tallied assists.
Graduate student Marc Bonnaire made two saves, including one on a penalty attempt, to secure his sixth shutout of the season. In the last four games, the Mountaineer defense has allowed just one goal and only six shots on frame.
Pozos leads the Sun Belt and is eighth in the nation with 10 goals this season while Caldeira leads the Sun Belt and is 10th in the country with seven assists. Both players have 21 points, tops in the league and 12th in the NCAA.
In Sun Belt action, the Mountaineers are in first place at 4-0-0 with 12 points, three clear of Marshall and Kentucky.
Georgia State is led by 16th-year head coach Brett Surrency and has the Panthers at 3-4-5 overall and 1-1-2 in the Sun Belt this season.
Samir Djeha leads the team with six goals and four assists. Loan Marin has made 45 saves while playing every minute in goal.
