
Mountaineers Head to Lawrence for Big 12 Cross Country Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team is set for the 2025 Cross Country Big 12 Championships on Oct. 31, which will be hosted by Kansas. This year's race will be held at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.
The women's 6k is scheduled to kick off at noon.
Friday's race can be viewed live on ESPN+, while live results are available at WVUsports.com.
Last time out, West Virginia finished fourth out of 30 teams at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational on Oct. 17, collecting 190 team points. The race was highlighted by sophomore Joy Naukot who finished with a time of 19:56.1, taking tenth place. Redshirt sophomore Mercy Kinyanjui finished next for the Mountaineers in 17th with a time of 20:11.3.
West Virginia was tabbed No. 7 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Poll on Oct. 21, after the team's performance in Wisconsin. Additionally, the squad was picked first in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic regional rankings, ahead of No. 2 Georgetown, No. 3 Penn State, No. 4 Villanova and No. 5 Princeton.
